RetroFC is a free, hobby project made for playing "historic" fantasy football with friends. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled.
Data we collect
- Account data: name, email address and password (stored only in encrypted form, never in plain text).
- Profile picture: only if you choose to upload one.
- Game data: the leagues you take part in, your team names, auctions, lineups, scores and the messages you exchange in the chat of the leagues you take part in.
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to make the app work: to let you log in, show you the leagues you take part in, calculate scores and let you play with the friends you invite. We do not sell or share your data and we do not use it for advertising: RetroFC shows no ads and has no commercial purpose.
With your consent (banner on first visit), we use aggregated usage data to understand how the game is used and to improve it. Regardless of consent, we collect technical errors in order to fix them. In both cases the data stays on servers in the European Union. See the next section.
Who we share data with
Your team name, your lineups, scores and chat messages are visible to the other participants of the leagues you take part in: this is necessary for the game to work.
We rely on these external providers (sub-processors):
- PostHog (European Union) — product usage analytics, only if you give consent. It receives your identifier, account name and email (to recognise you between visits), the screens you visit and your in-game actions. No data is used for advertising or sold.
- Sentry (European Union) — collection of technical errors so we can fix them. It receives the error stack and a numeric identifier; no email, no payment data.
- Hosting — the server RetroFC runs on, where accounts and game data are stored.
No other data is shared with third parties.
Where data is stored
Data is stored on the servers used to run the app, for as long as you keep an active account. When you delete your profile, your personal data and your league participations are permanently removed (unless you are the creator of a league that is still active, in which case we will let you know before proceeding).
Your rights
You can view, correct or delete your data at any time from the Profile page: changing your name, email, password and profile picture is always available, as is full account deletion.
